PMI is a full-service Reaction Injection Molder/Manufacturer, specializing in highly technical, complicated plastic part designs. From design assistance to custom finishing and assembly, PMI has serviced the medical OEM industry since 1979 and is still owned and operated by its original founders.
PMI use Vixen’s Aquablast 1515 blast cabinet, which is the largest machine within the standard Aquablast range. Manually operated, the Aquablast is particularly effective for creating a satin finish on stainless steel along with a wide range of other metals. The Aquablast range is designed to simultaneously blast and degrease components in a quick and easy dust-free process, which achieves outstanding finishing results on a variety of components.
The key to Vixen’s wetblasting process is that the finish is produced through flow of water borne abrasive and not by media impact. This helps to create a finer finish due to the lubrication and flushing action of the water during the process. Vixen’s vapor blasting process eliminates media impregnation into the component, and as a result, is vastly becoming a popular choice for companies worldwide.
Len said: “We bought a Vixen machine through Rick and we couldn’t be happier.
Rick processed some parts for us and we liked the results but really didn’t have a feel for the process. It saves us so much time and money!
We need to etch the surface of a special plastic so that it will take paint. We used a very ugly and expensive chemical as well as many manual hours of scrubbing. We have totally eliminated the chemicals and cut preparation time down incredibly. Both wetblasting.com and Vixen were a great find!”
